Statement:
The notion of casting developed further into the form of singing karaoke in Same Same ,2012.
It is a karaoke box which the audience can go inside and participate by pick up the microphone and sing however the playlist is only in Thai but there is also english subtitle lyric so people can actually try to pronounce and sing in Thai song.
The moment people try to sing themselves into these song, new form of identity is created yet undefinable one as propose in the text it is a kind of supermodernity.
That is the work intended to give the spectator the sense of tourist of somekind.
The interior of this box structure patched up with foam , foam as a sound proof material as well as a sense of packing,packing some kind of commodity.
In other word the work touch up on the sense of culture,exotic culture,namely Thai culture being exploited as commodity. Also in itself the work is a space of non-place where this karaoke box could exist only in Thai old department store,dodgy beach bar,shady suburb restaurant and local pub.
